Thanks Friend, Thanks Neighbor - Wordless Wednesday (& Project Yellow #1)

I've been thinking of splurging going in debt on investing in a new macro lens. Talking with a fellow photography enthusiast/friend, he let me borrow his macro lens for a while so I could get a good idea if it's something I'd like. Wanting to shoot anything, I set up my camera on my tripod the other night and shot some old American coins in my kitchen. After some very disappointing results, I decided to take it outside Sunday after church. I went no further than the edge of our lawn as I saw our neighbor's flowers in spectacular bloom. I think I'll make her a set of these pictures to thank her for letting me shoot them. And ya, now I really want to make that investment.

Ooooo, I want a macro lens, too! Sometimes, I just can't get close enough.

You definitely had a "bug's eye view" here...isn't the detail amazing?

And your last one? The rose??? My favorite! You should link that to Anna's "project yellow"!

(Nice that you got to "try before you buy", too!)

Beautiful work... isn't there always something out there calling us (and our money). If it's not camera equipment, it's a new computer or cell phone or MP3 player. This certainly is the technological age!

They reminded me of my grandma's flower garden when I was a little girl. She raised me and in the mornings she would be outside tending her flowers while I watched for the bus. She would get so excited and show me the new buds and what flowers had bloomed. I loved that special time with her. Thank you for sharing these and jogging my memories.

I would love to be able to take photos like that! But to get a macro lens I would first have to have a camera that uses a macro lens...

I love the last purple one the best because of the perfect symmetry, on at least two levels. It is stunning. I can't wait for snow to go!!
