Gift Wrapped in Green - Project Green #7

I saved the best for last. Most of you know we adopted Lily in July of last year in China. Here are the very first pictures we took of Lily the day we met her. Taken literally minutes after she was placed in Julianne's arms for the first time. I'm also including video of the moment we got her. Some of you have seen this before, but it's well worth seeing again in my humble opinion!

Green Eyed Pumpkin

Experiencing a bit of a heat wave here in our valley, we headed off to Malibu this afternoon to cool off and spend time with the parents of my friend living abroad. We had a wonderful time together talking, eating, and touring their beautiful home. Their pretty kitty, Pumpkin, was kind enough to pose for me, revealing a beautiful pair of light green eyes. Thanks Pumpkin!

Oooops - Project Green #5

I was processing some of my pictures and accidentally moved the lines on the color graph a wee bit too much. Normally I'm not a fan of over processed, unnatural looking images. After I gasped at my mistake, I thought, "Hey, this is pretty cool looking." What do you think?

Project Green - Larry the non-veggie Veggie

This one was tough. Last night I was taking pictures of my snap peas before dinner. My wife thinks I'm weird but she understands me. I shot about 10 or 15 images of my vegetables. But none of them really grabbed me. Then, I thought of my daughter and her "Veggies". She's getting way-into Veggie Tales lately. In case you're not familiar, Veggie Tales are biblically based, computer animated stories. The two main stars are Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber, neither of which are vegetables, which I find rather funny. Fortunately Lily was kind enough to lend me Larry for a few minutes for me to shoot shoot shoot! Enjoy.

Finding Green in Red China - Project Green #3

More images collected in China last summer. Since I'm going through the archives, I'm throwing a bunch up today. Hope it's not overwhelming. If I run out of green this week, I'll kick myself for putting up so much at once!

This footbridge above and the lily pad below are hanging on our living room wall.

The above image was taken at the same park as the footbridge above.

The above image was taken on a walk through a very old farming village community during a heavy rainstorm. We imagine Lily was born in such a village.

Walking back to our bus I saw this on the side of the road.

While walking through The Summer Palace, I looked up and took the picture above. (Anna, you should appreciate this one!)

A mural painted on the interior wall of an elementary school in Beijing.

A beautiful butterfly on a walk through a park.

A visit to the jade factory. It was too expensive to buy so I took his picture instead.

A walk through a park in Guangzho.

Project Green - Palm Leaf

Anna has a new theme this week. Now we are on to Project Green. Just yesterday when I was on my walk I kind of hoped the new color for the project would be either red or green. The moment I saw she chose green, I knew this shot would be first.
