Special Delivery

Before I begin, we are fine. As some of you have heard, we had a little earthquake here today. It was one of the rolling types so it was kinda (dare I say it) fun. This was the first one I experienced while teaching. The kids did really great. When I told them to drop, they listened right away. For many of them, this was their first earthquake ever. Julianne had a fun experience with it too.

Ok, onto the post. It arrived today! I had been anxiously awaiting the print of the picture you see above. No no no, it's not one of my pictures. My blogging friend, Christy, posted this quite a while back and I loved it. Still do. She took the picture in Venice and edited it to look like a painting. Take a look at her work on her blog, Christy Thomas Photography. She just shot her first wedding and did an amazing job. I was honored to be Christy's first paying client. The print looks wonderful. Thanks Christy!

Julianne and I are hitting the town once again tonight. We are on our way to go see James Taylor at the Greek Theatre with some good friends of ours that we hardly see enough of. It should be a great show.

So glad you're all okay (and even had fun!)

Gorgeous print! Venice is beautiful. If you like, you can see some shots I took there by clicking on my October, 2006 archive. I love them, even though I was just using a Sony cyber shot. :)

Enjoy the concert!

Earthquakes can be fun and exciting when it all turns out okay... glad that was the case for you... and everyone else, of course.

I think you made an excellent choice for your Christy pic, though any would have been just as excellent. That one has a charm all its own.

Glad you are all ok and that you actually ENJOYED the earth quake. Better you than me. Beautiful photo/print. And I'm totally jealous of the James Taylor Concert, but I hope you have a wonderful time.

Really glad you're ok! I read Julianne's account too and had to smile. If I had been there I probably would have been that lady. :)
When I opened your blog I said to myself - hey, I know that picture.
Christy did a great job with that -the girl has talent!!
Another concert - gee - and it's James Taylor- sigh, and sigh again.
Have fun!

Beautiful print! I can see why you wanted this.

Earthquakes - oh yes, I remember the Loma Preita in '89 on opening day of the World Series quite well. I spent most of it under a table in Taco Bell with my cousin. My first (and only) BIG earthquake.
