Too Busy

Life has been busy. Work is kicking me in the behind. I'm enjoying being back in the class, but geeeesh is it a lot of work. Tomorrow night is back to school night and I'll get to meet many of the parents. I always look forward to this. It's an informal gathering where we look at the curriculum, talk about expectations, homework policy, etc. But it's also a chance for parents to size me up so I hope I make a good impression. I think most parents care about two things from a teacher: 1) that the teacher knows what he/she is doing; and 2) that the teacher cares about the students. I'm pretty confident I'll pass both of these tests. Although not quite as organized as I'd like, I do have a pretty good grasp on what I'm doing. And I think it's obvious that I care about the kids.

I apologize for not visiting my regulars in a while. I hope as I get settled into the semester I can spend more time seeing what everyone has been posting. I have not had much time to shoot lately so here's one from the archives that I don't think I've had the opportunity to post previously.

It's always a drag when real life gets in the way of fun. I hope things settle down for you soon and that you start finding more time to get out shooting again, too. In the meantime, I'll see you when I see you :-). Happy teaching.

I have no idea what you mean about being busy... (did you catch how that sentence was positively dripping with sarcasm?) :) I've missed your posts, but I've had a hard time posting as well. I hope parent/teacher night goes well and that life settles into a more manageable pace that allows you to post and shoot more!

Your absence has been noticed...I totally forgot about your school year starting and all that that entails. I'm sure parent/teacher night will go well..they will come away relieved to know their children will have you and not some bozo for a teacher!

I wondered if the start of school had you hopping. No worries, Robert, it happens to all of us; that thing called life. While it hasn't hit me full-swing yet, I'm sure once we close on the house, I'll be a bit limited here in bloggityville, too.

You'll find your groove. And we'll be here to see the photos and hear the stories. Hope you enjoy your students! :D

Blessings!

Good luck tonight. As a parent I always enjoy going to those things. Having a sister as a teacher, I see the stress and nerves it causes also. LOL

You'll do great. :)

Great shot. These type always amaze me-quite simple, but beautiful and full of color. Nice Creator we have, eh?

Don't feel bad about leaf-ing us w/out visits...but we do miss your pictures and commentary! That's what happens when you branch out into defferent territory...I wooden feel bad about it though.

I'm sure you'll be great with the kids and parents...
