In Denial

I'm back at work and fighting the thought. Denial about the end of summer. Sure I'm excited about starting a new school year in a new school. But I've also enjoyed my time off. Ok, I could have done without the surgery part, but still. My friend at work just got back from Hawaii. So I'm dreaming once again. Here are some images from 3 long years ago when Julianne and I went to Maui. Maybe Lily would like to go next summer. Something to think about.

These first two shots were taken at a Luau. I like the slow shutter speed on the first one with the dancer. And I love the contrast on the guy eating fire in the second shot.

This statue shot was taken at Mama's Fish House. This place is to die for.

Yeah, that fire eater's a great shot! I've never been to Hawaii...maybe someday...

I have no doubt that Lily wants nothing more than to go to Hawaii next summer. In fact, I think you'd be failing as a parent if you don't make sure she gets there before her third birthday. (You're welcome.)

Love the firelight reflected on the eater's face!

Restless on day one? Oops. Hawaii's a good place to dream about, though. Each of these shots has it's own special quality... all nice.

Hmmm, I don't see anything there that would make me want to travel. ;)

I so remember the Luau we went to in Hawaii - fun! The best was boarding the bus and the very young guy who was our guide asked for my ID to be sure I was 18 - I was 35 at the time. :) He ended up being a great guide though.
Your wonderful photos bring back some beautiful memories - thank you.

Those are wonderful shots, Robert. Good choice on your settings for those first two. Love the motion of the dancer's skirt.

Looks like a lot of fun, and I'm sure Lily would love to go next year. :D
