...on the way into the garage today. I had asked Julianne to get me a drink from the fridge in the garage and she came back a little startled. "There's a baby bird under the door of the refrigerator," she said. We have a nest outside the garage under the eaves. Well it seems that two of the babies found their way into the garage from their nest and couldn't find their way out. I scooped the lil fellas up and put them into a cardboard box with some food and water and moved them to the backyard. With all their squawking it didn't take momma bird long to find them. They seem like they'll be ready to fly away any day now so hopefully they're well cared for enough to make it until then. Today's pictures are purely documentary style as there is nothing too fascinating about them artistically. I just thought some images would help the story. :)

Glad you were able to save them. Do you know what kind of bird that is? Doesn't look familiar to me. Must be a West Coast species... Anyway, congrats on saving it. I hope you are feeling better.
I am so glad you found them in time. Baby birds -- well, all birds -- need to eat often to keep up with the energy they expend. I hope the box is in a safe, cat proof place. Or can momma somehow get the babies back to the nest?
Lucky little birds in your garage!!
Lucky little birds to have been found...and found by you. Sooooo cute!
Neat! You have quite the bird-series going on!
That's sweet! :)
