The Midnight Rider - Project Black #6

Saturday afternoon found us in West L.A. visiting my aunt for lunch. Pretty much all visits now are Lily viewing opportunities and have little to do with us anymore! Anyhow, driving back to my aunt's apartment, we saw this parked across the street. As the family was unloading into the apartment, I grabbed my gear and headed across the street. I thought it was just a very clean semi truck but it turned out to be far more. As I approached the massive vehicle, elegantly dressed men and women were gathering on the sidewalk. I noted the writing on the side of the massive black machine, The Midnight Rider. Turns out this the ultimate in limousine. I quickly grabbed about a dozen shots from the other side of the street and struck up a conversation with a guy in the neighborhood. He assumed I was with the limo crew and began asking me questions. As I had no answers our conversation shifted somehow to music. My new acquaintance would be heading to see The Who later that evening. When all was said and done, I had engaged in a nice conversation with a friendly neighbor and had my next Project Black shot in the bag. Not a bad outing. :)

Only in LA. It certainly is the ultimate in black and big. I'm stunned and I thought I'd seen everything.

I wonder how many gallons to the mile it gets.

Willow -- diesel, and likely 5 r 6 mpg.

Robert -- this is a great shot, but aren't you hours ahead? Isn't this Tuesday's post? Or am I behind?

I had to quickly shut my screen down....poor J Girl was screaming to look at the "horse trailer" again!

Head on over....have a little something for all these great shots!

Now that is a big ole black truck and very well captured!
So, were there no famous people among those elegantly dressed men and women?
That is one nice ride!

That is quite a set of wheels!

Personally, I'll pass. I don't think I'd enjoy riding in something with no windows, too coffin-like. Otherwise I would of course be booking my turn right away. Yup, that's the reason ;-).

That's one mean looking machine. I'd hate to see that barreling down behind me on the interstate!

Robert,
You're right--black is everywhere. We just don't 'see' it because black provides the best background for the other colors. This project has been fun because I'm seeing everything in 'negative'.

So, what does it do? Just drive around all night while people party inside it? Too bad you didn't get a tour of the inside!
