Two of my preceding posts had me going from the backyard to the front yard in search of all things black. This picture takes place in between. This is the gate which separates the two. Even though I knew I was heading to the other side, I paused long enough to see the black in a sea of white.

Oh, I like the top one! It is because the handle is off center!
I like the very clear details on the lower photo. I really do love the little close ups!
Isn't it fun how these memes make us aware of our surroundings! I like the top one best too..
These are both cool. I like different things about each of them, but I do really love the clarity of detail and texture in the second one. I took some photos of my door handle but they were a big snooze.
Very nice! It's amazing how nice and shiny it looks in the first shot, but then you can see all the character in the second.
June said it - we begin to notice everything. I wonder if I ever really thought about the color of something before these projects. Now I notice it so much more - especially the colors we've already done!
I like the second better - the closeup shot! :)
I think they're both terrific! I like that you closed in on the same subject, too.
Great eye for black. I love all the detail in that second one. It always amazes me how something so ordinary and plain can become something else entirely when viewed through the lens of a camera.
The second one for me, black in a sea of white, i like it:0)
Love it! Handle and a macro shot... just great! I have several similar shots to the top one that I've taken over the years -- it's a good framing!
They're both great, Robert, each in its own way. The asymmetry of the first and the detail of the second. How often is the handle used and never noticed? It's cool to stop and notice the little things in life.
I'm glad you got a handle on this project! As you'll see tonight when I post my #8, it's left me feeling a little crushed.
Just catching up and looking at all your project black. I enjoyed them all but I think these two are my favorite.
Love the closeup of the handle. The simple can be so interesting.
