Hi Tech - Project Black #8

Am I grasping at straws now or what? For this I didn't even go outside. I had to go as far as my pocket today. Here you see my new (a few months new) Blackberry Pearl. Far more than I need but I gotta say it's fun. Not that I get a slew of emails, but now all my spam gets forwarded to me where ever I am. And the internet on a phone? Who would have thought about this stuff 10 years ago? I took about a dozen shots that all looked like something that belonged in a T-Mobile ad. This last one, in which you can barely see it was my favorite. Perhaps I'll venture outside for my next Project Black post.

Your photo is surpisingly well-balanced for such an asymetrical composition. I really like it!!

You ventured outside the box with this one. All the white makes the black2berry stand out more. Nice composition.

Interesting. Very different than what I usually expect from you. Not sure how I feel about it. This may be partly because I am so out of the loop of the real world that I don't have a cell phone and have never seen a blackberry. Maybe there's a social message in the expanse of white around the blackberry. I sometimes think that all the communication available these days actually isolates us in some ways. Look at you, you went and made me think!

Show off!

Today I was in a conversation which appalled a young person. My phone makes phone calls. It can text, but I don't know how. If I paid more it would send me email, but I leave the house to get away from the net .... It can take photos, but the quality sucks. It has a calendar and a calculator which I use from time to time. But mostly I just make phone calls. And since it's my cell phone, I don't answer it -- or even look to see who is calling -- when I am off having fun and don't want to be bothered. It is for MY convenience, not for the convenience of those who would put tabs on me.

Love your composition and the fact that only a bit of the phone is showing...here's me using an ancient cell phone which suits me perfectly :)
But I love to hear about new technology (too bad it comes with spam too !

It's as if the Blackberry is playing peekaboo - more implied than seen.

I find it hard to run out for milk without a phone these days, I can't imagine how my parents felt when I was 20 and backpacking through Europe on my own, with no way to reach me or even know what country I was in!

Chuckles. I see what you mean about us posting about the "same" things! I just had some of mine on my cereal...yummy!

I like it a lot... a simple shot for a complex item. I almost shot my phone, too, lol... but it's a fairly boring model.

Headed off-grid today...I don't think I want one of those - I kinda like being unplugged every once in a while.
