E - for the Eyes of Lily

I'm the daddy. I'm supposed to say how beautiful my daughter is. And she is. People come up to us all the time and tell us how pretty, cute, adorable, beautiful, precious, etc. she is. And she is. Some of you comment here the same things. And, she is. Don't stop!

She eats pretty well. Has slept through the night since day one (with only about a handful of exceptions). Is mostly well behaved. Is in the habit of praying before meals and bedtime. Is learning to say please and thank you. And is learning to share.

What parent doesn't want his or her child to grow up to be happy? To be responsible? To be a contributing member of society? Of course I want all that for Lily. But I want so much more. You see, all those things are external. What I hope, what I pray rather, is for her to grow in grace and knowledge of Him. Behind those eyes, those precious eyes, is someone who needs to know Jesus. We pray each night for Lily to come to saving faith early in her life.

Lily is adorable. Wow! You have lots of equipment. Well, I just have my Nikon D40, no additional lenses or anything. Just starting out for me. Love the dog shots as well. The bicycle chain is fun too! Enjoy catching up with your blog.

As you often comment on my posts, the words say so much of what the photographer was thinking. I hope one day that Lily can read those words and be encouraged at God's hand on her life at such an early age!

And her eyes are stunning. You might need to invest in a large stick one day to beat off all the boys!

Robert, this was moving for me today. Somedays I am only focused on the external (behaving, saying please and thank you, sharing, and the rest) that I sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture, of the most important thing: that each of my children will come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Thank you for focusing me today.

OH, and yes. This is a beautiful picture. Of course because you have a beautiful model. :)

Your daughters eyes are as expressive as your writing. She is such a lucky girl to have a daddy that loves her as much as you do.

Beautiful shot! I have never met you in person, but I can tell that you are an amazing father and Lily is truly blessed to have you.

You must send that shot to Shutterfly and have them canvas it immediately!

It's going to cost you a boat-load of money, but boy! That's a good shot of that sweet baby girl.

Ah. See me commenting before I actually read the post?

Your sentiments are spoken straight from a father's heart. Lily is blessed to have you praying for her and raising her in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Beautiful shot of your lovely little one. I think you should print out your blog and give it to her when she turns eighteen, your hopes and dreams for her bound into a book.

Proverbs 22:6 Train your children in the way you wish them to go and when they are old they will not turn form it. (my paraphrase)
