Wordless Wednesday - Atop the Great Wall of China

****************************************
Update
As I took a closer look at this picture, I thought the color, slight as it is, takes away from the picture. So I converted it to black and white. I'm leaving the original up but wanted this one up even if just for comparison.

Original post

Something about this young boy looking out from this high vantage point amongst the vastness of China told me I needed to take this picture. It's among my favorites (of the non-Lily shots that is) from our trip. Taken July 07.

This image is powerful beyond words. Having recently visited China, I understand what must have gone through your mind as you composed this magical shot.

My WW contribution is now posted here:

This week, I'm also participating in an online effort to help find a young woman who went missing in Montreal. If you know anyone who lives in this region, I hope you'll drop by my blog and follow the link.

Thanks so much, and happy WW!

That is amazing. Simply and utterly amazing. I hope you have that framed on your wall. And send it to National Geographic while you are at it!

What a fantastic shot for WW. It's beautiful. It leaves the viewer (at least this one) wanting to know more)--did he know you were there, where were his shoes, what was he looking at, for starters.

Very artistic :).

It is striking. From your blurb underneath, I take it you did not know the boy?
