Here I Am

From almost daily posts a year ago to nothing for the last 4 months. Geesh. I'm a slacker. So I'm not even sure if anyone will read this now but here it goes.

I had quite the busy school year. Going back to the classroom really kicked me in the tail. It was hard yet quite rewarding. I had a great group of kids that really challenged me to challenge them. I'm not just saying that because I know some of them found my blog and read this. So between being a classroom teacher again and trying to get the photography business off the ground, blogging suffered. As I told a friend of mine, my creative output is through photography so I didn't really miss writing that much. I have missed reading the blogs of my blogging friends though. Facebook has been good for keeping in touch with some though.

Seeing as how this blog is called Thoughts of a Father, I'd like to write in that direction. We just passed the 2 year mark since we got Lily. TWO YEARS! I can hardly believe it. I look back at those pictures and marvel. It has flown by and yet it seems she's always been with us. She amazes Julianne and I constantly. We just sit there and listen to her talk and talk. And talk. And talk. It's our own fault. We talk to her too much and we don't use baby talk. She has incredible vocabulary. And when she runs out of words she knows, she makes them up as she goes. She made up one at lunch yesterday. Well, she thought she was making it up. We were having lunch with my mom and out came the F bomb in the midst of a sentence. We all kind of stared at each other and said, "WHAT" to her. So of course she repeated it in a sentence that made no sense at all. I looked at my mom and said, "We leave her alone with you for a few hours and we come back and my daughter is talking like a truck driver! What did you do to her?" Yes, our Lily keeps us in stitches.

And what would my blog be without pictures. Here are a few I took just a few days past. We had fun.

If anyone is still here reading, thanks for coming back. :)

Oh, I'm here, I'm here! :)

I don't know how you don't have time to do anything else EXCEPT photograph your sweet daughter! LOVE the pictures!

And, as for making up new words? I laughed out loud at the fact "that word" came out in front of Grandma. :)

Good to see you blogging again, however spontaneously. (Thank goodness for feed readers.) Lily's getting so big, and is of course as beautiful as ever!

The first batch of photowalk images is up on my blog. More will follow as I process them. (I've also put a few on FB, since I don't link to my blog there.)

I know I already commented on the facebook album, but the story here is just priceless. My friend's three-year-old has used similar "made-up" words in the past!

I feel like I've fallen off the blogging band-wagon as well with everything going on for the last year... but something is better than nothing, right?

Hey, Robert! A little late, but I'm around, too. I do think of you and miss your photo blogging. However, I totally understand how life happens and this isn't the top priority.

Glad it was a good school year for you. Hope the photog business is going well for you.

And that sweet Lily is as adorable as ever!! How fun that she's talking so much now! Precious times. :D

Oh my, she's so cute! It's been a awhile since your last post. Hopefully, I can read some more of your interesting posts. Good luck on everything. By the way, these best gifts that you could give your better-half might interest you too. Thanks and have a nice and fulfilling day.
