California Dreaming

Today we went to my mom's house for a Labor Day bbq. We had a great visit and great food. Lily got ice cream so she was in heaven. My mom has been car sitting for the past few months. A friend of a friend is keeping a Saab Turbo convertible in her garage for the summer. She asked if I would periodically take it out for a spin. So I graciously (foaming at the bit) accepted her request. I miss having a convertible. I had a Jeep Wrangler and a Mustang LX back in the late 80's/early 90's which were both convertibles. Hopefully I'll have one sometime again. So until such time, today I was dreaming.

REMINDER
Be sure to check back on Saturday, Sept 6 for the details of my photo project I'll be hosting. Click here for preliminary details.

That's a lovely car. Who's the funny looking dude driving it? ;)

Wow! Hey, it's a dangerous, crazy world out there. I think you need a fellow sharp-shooter to ride shotgun. Hint, hint.

Something about the wind blowing through your hair...a sense of being one with the world like the birds.

I've been enjoying your pictures for several days but it has always been in passing with no time to comment! Here I am now! A photo project? Sounds like fun, count me in! I was thinking of you today as I lamenated calendar pieces. I am back as an educator- part time, as are you. It feel VERY good but it is sad that summer is over. Does anyone else LOVE the smell of crayons and pencils?

Your bench shot is fantastic! Love the angle, the color ALL OF IT! I also love the photo below of the barber shot- classic. And, of course, anything with Lily and your wife are winners! I'll try to be consistent with shooting this week. It is just a bit crazy over here. I found out on Thursday that I would be teaching this class so I am very busy in preparation! Have a great week.

Sweet ride, Robert! I'll bet that was a real chore - taking it out for a spin. Ha! Ha! I know what you mean about a convertible. We've had our current CJ7 for 14 years now. My very first car was a '65 Impala convertible. I also had a bright orange, '73 Corvette (t-tops; close enough). There's just something about all that fresh air!
