Greetings from our state capitol

I missed one day of posting and feel like I'm out of the loop. After a meeting with the surgeon yesterday and getting the green light for our trip, I had quite the bad night before we were to travel. I'm hoping it was just an upset stomach but it felt like another attack that led me to have the gallbladder surgery. I was down and out all night. Feeling much better this morning, we packed up and headed out. We are taking 2 days to get to Oregon so we are staying tonight in Sacramento. I specifically chose Sacramento because I really wanted a picture of the State Capitol Building. So here are three (out of about 50) images I got tonight. First, your typical postcard shot. Next, with mommy and baby. And then I just had to try out my newest toy-my lensbaby. I've got much to learn with this thing but I know I'm really going to like it once I get the hang of it. Also, I have no editing software on this computer so these are sooc.

I'm not sure what internet access will be like moving forward. I'll post and comment as able.

A big thank you to Rick for watching (and keeping secure!) our house while we're gone.

So that's where you went!
Lovely night shots.

Hope all of you have a wonderful trip. Stay safe and take care of yourself.
I'm sure we'll see great pictures when you can post them. Can hardly wait!

I love the first two photos. The third one may need a little work. Have fun on your vacation and don't worry too much about the internet. We'll all still be around when you get back.

My sister has had gall bladder surgery twice. Once to remove the stones. Once to remove her gall bladder. She STILL has the attacks and as a result is very slim. She eats almost NO fat. She lives on veggies, 1% milk and steamed, boiled or broiled lean meats. I hope you aren't going to be one of the very few this happens to!

Have a safe and wonderful trip! Maybe the stomach ache was from crawling all over getting your great shots?!

Gave a great time!

How fun! Hope you stay well for the trip. I lived in Sacramento for awhile.

A lens baby, eh? Coolness. More fun gadgets - can't wait to see the goodness you shoot with that.

:D

I'm enraged that they left the house lights on all night with no approved budget! Just kidding. Nice postcard shot!

I hope the stomach thing was just a fluke! Glad you're posting. Glad the dr. gave you the greenlight.

Be safe.

Nice shots. Hope you feel better and have a great trip. Oregon is gorgeous. I was there in the Spring and I felt like it was so green that you could feel it and taste it. I don't know what it would be like moving into autumn, but I'm sure it's beautiful. Have a great trip and feel better... and take lots of pictures (not that I need to say that, really).

You're giving me road-trip-itis...sounds like great fun. Be mindful of the fact that you're still healing and take it easy!
