Blessings Abound

I repeatedly talk about how blessed I am. And of course it's true. Tonight there are no pictures. And no audio. You'll thank me when you finish reading. Sharing this may be a form of blogger suicide or fall under countless uncouth categories. I'll take that chance.

Lily is almost 2 years old. That means she repeats everything. She's a chatter box. Talking all the time now. Words, two word combinations, and non words alike. She is a sponge. It's a fun time. Of the many words she knows she is more than eager to bless us after a sneeze. "BESSY" (her version of "bless you") she yells with a smile and the knowledge of knowing she saying something nice. And it's not restricted to just humans. When our dog, Shayna sneezes, she too is promptly blessed.

Well apparently sneezes are not the only things Lily deems worthy of blessing. Last week, when cleaning up the kitchen while Julianne was getting Lily ready for bed, one of life's naturally occurring bodily functions came upon me. As no one was around and errantly thinking our home was much larger than it is, I surrendered to its call and let it pass. Seconds later, running down the hall toward me with an ear to ear grin, Lily looked up at me and proudly pronounced, "BESSY. BESSY."

Oh, and as long as I'm publicly humiliating myself, I recently found out burps also get the same blessings. Indeed, blessings of ALL kinds abound here in our home.

LOL! And now I am left wondering what such a photo might look like? A bit of green mystery vapor hanging in the air above your butt? Thanks, Robert. You're such a joy. ;)

Wonderful story. Blessing is such a great habit to have and shows that she is learning to love and be loved. BESSY!

In a home with three boys, I can vouch for the fact that blessings do indeed count on more than just sneezing! I love Lily's age! That is such a wonderful time of wonder and curiosity and you really get to watch their personality unfold like you are unwrapping a present!

I want to hang out with Lily! I was giggling reading your post. Commenting on your photography post, I think it's fabulous that you're jumping in and starting a web site to launch your photography business. On my side-bar there is a link to my friend Jodi's blog, she and a friend launched their photography business and have a blog as well as a web site...you may find it helpful. I love looking at their pictures, especially weddings.
Good luck annnddd

Poooops... "Bessy"
What a cute lil 2yr old.

My brother always says "Gesundheit"
He's 46.

But my lil girls always say "Da-a-addy". Even if it wasn't me. I'm always happy to take the blame...
