Giant Steps

Overwhelmed. Delightfully overwhelmed. As I continue to read the comments of support that keep coming in, I'm so grateful. I was concerned about doing a good job on the wedding of course. And when I returned I was a bit critical of my work. The more I review it, and listen to the constructive opinions (and yes, all the praise) I'm feeling much more confident in what I accomplished. As the title of today's post suggests, today was Leap-of-Faith Day for me. At about 3:30 this afternoon, I filled out an application for a Business Tax Certificate and a Home Occupation Permit. I registered a domain name. I opened a business email account with my domain name. In other words, I officially started my photography business today! This week I will file a fictitious business name application with the county and I will begin working on my professional website. I'm taking the giant steps toward making my hobby something more. Once again I ask that you join me in prayer that God bless this endeavor and guide me. Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement. I leave you with more images from the wedding and the sounds of Giant Steps by John Coltrane.

Do not doubt your abilities when it comes to the gift God has given you when you look through a camera! These are wonderful and I am so incredibly excited for you as you start this new adventure! What a fun ride it will be!

Congrats Robert! Enjoy all the fun! I still can't believe that I found something to be when I grow up that is fun! Hehehe.

And I am glad I was the first to comment! Hehehehe. Too bad it is because I am up at 5:30 in the morning with my mind racing...I am so excited for my friends and all their joys!

Wahoooo!! You're gonna knock 'em dead Robert. Truly.

And those still lifes - the cherries, that flower, that whatever those green things are - LOVE them. Those colors just pop right off the screen. Amazing, really amazing. And a really tight crop of them holding hands would be so striking.

I can't wait to say I knew you when... :)

Umm, obviously that would be the happy couple holding hands, not the cherries. Sheesh. (Nope, not admitting that I'm an editor in real life. Nope, not admitting that at all.)

Many prayers Robert that God will bless you in this new endeavor. I'm so excited for you and look forward to sharing your journey with you through this blog. It will be so much fun to say "I knew him when." :)
These photos are again wonderful.
You captured such loving faces of the couple. Right now I can't remember all the photos but the lily stands out in my mind as gorgeous.
Love the M&M's!! The red shot is wonderful.I think your "object" shots will be so appreciated by the couple because judging by their eyes for each other they barely noticed anything else! Just wait till they see what you captured.
Much continued success to you.

Robert, your people shots are warm and wonderful! I can see and feel the emotions behind them. And your stills are breathtaking. ?You have a way of bringing out the grace and glamor in everyday things. I would wish you luck for your new venture, but I don't believe you are going to need it. Instead, I will wish you joy. As long as you love looking through the view finder, I believe it will show in your photographs.

Congratulations! I loooove the stills; especially the flower with shadow. Constructive criticism (and yes, I'll be the one to risk saying it)---On the picture of the ring exchange; "nice cleavage!". Maybe shoulda zoomed in for for a tighter shot...of the rings!
