You're Fired!

You're Fired! Only it wasn't Donald Trump that issued the words. In fact, I wasn't fired. But I did lose my position. All is well. Let me explain. I was told several months ago that if our state's current budget crisis meant there would be cuts to the educational program in which I've been involved for the past four years, I would be among the first to lose my position. As of last week, that possibility became reality. As some of you have known, I have toyed with the idea of returning to the classroom for some time now. Well, I no longer have to decide. The decision has been made for me. So, I am actively looking for a teaching position. If I do not secure one on my own, I still have a job. I would be placed in a school by the district. I would not have choice of school or grade level should that be the case. But I still have a job. So in the meantime, I'm trying to find a school of my choice and my grade level of preference- 3rd, 4th, or 5th, in that order. A year of K, 1st or 2nd just scares me! But God is in control. So I'm not worried. It's comforting to know that He is in control and that I still have a job. I'm actually quite excited about having a class of my own again. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with a single group of students throughout the course of a school year. I'm curious to see how I can move a class now that I've had all this extra experience and training. I have high hopes.

Big things are indeed happening! I just have a feeling that this is really actually good news. It is what is supposed to be next and the extra training will come in handy at just the right time in the right way. God has a plan. Even when we can't see it, or it doesn't make ANY sense, God has a plan. SO, congratulations on your firing! You've got BETTER things to come!

Hey, I taught 5th grade for 10 years and I just survived a year in Pre-K. (I'm not going back though!)

Hawaii needs good teachers. How long of a "vacation" did you want?

This sounds rather exciting! All firings should include these benefits! Of course, I hope you do find the position you prefer!

Hey - you shoulda saved that Dodgers Ball for project Blue -- and the Superman too! LOL!

Arizona has teaching positions, I am sure.... :)

God is so in control. Even when things are up in the air and sometimes scary (like a year with little ones!), isn't being in His will a beautiful place to be?

Keep us all posted, and we will keep you and Julianne and Lily in our prayers. :)

Lacey,
Yes I agree. I'm right where I'm supposed to be. When God closes doors, others open. Anxiously awaiting the next door.

Quilly,
A permanent vacation in Hawaii sounds NICE. I could teach there I'm sure.

Melli,
I'm sure things will work out great. I'll keep you posted. And don't worry, I've got plenty more Dodgers stuff!

Karly,
Being in His will IS a wonderful thing. I'm just convinced teaching the lil ones is NOT His will. Ha ha. And Arizona huh? Sounds nice but if Hawaii were to open, I'm afraid I'd have to take that first. Can you blame me? Perhaps we'd make Arizona a place to visit. Would that work? I hear the hunting is good. :) Thanks much for prayers. They are so appreciated.

Good luck with finding a position that you want. I am sure you will be able to handle any situation you are put in and make the best of it.

I don't know if I should say, "I'm sorry to hear that...or congratulations?"

Your grade choices sound great though....they can all use the potty on their own...so maybe the worst that could happen is puke. Anyhow...hoping it all works out.

Oh me gosh Rob. Sounds exiting actually. We will pray for you when we do church today. If you like, I'll inquire on Mau'i & Kaua'i...

I'm lookin for work to. I worked for a Swiss window tinting company for the past 3 weeks 12-14 hours a day. The boss is skitzo though. He's bought me dinner 3 times, fired me twice (on account of his stress level) and the day before the last firing he bought us an ice cream. I guess he's the roller coaster type...

Next week I do a trial week at a Chembalo factory here in town. Classic 8-5 schedule. I'd even get to break the fast as well as have dinner with the family. Does this sound like me Rob? I dunno...

what I meant was; Could you imagine me as the "9-5" type.

You know I'm the sit down and eat with the family type...
